Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna fined

The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) fined in its first instance decision health insurer Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna (VZP) Kč 800,000 in the public procurement case of the realization of a project to supply Internet access to patients’ health care information.

The Office launched the proceedings this March in response to a complaint from the parliamentary committee that investigates VZP’s spending. The decision didn´t come into force. The insurer appealed the verdict. The contracting authority in this case didn´t proceed according to the Act on Public Procurement at all.
