The Office for the Protection of Competition has approved merger of Austrian company BRAU-UNION Aktiengesellschaft, member of Dutch group Heineken, and Czech brewery Kralovsky pivovar Krusovice.
The Office stated that the operation isn´t likely to create or strengthen dominant position resulting in substantial lessening of competition.
In the Czech Republic, brewery Krusovice produces and supplies its brands Svetle, Cerne, Musketyr, Imperial and Radler. Heineken Group is active on the Czech bear production market through its subsidiaries Starobrno and Hostan and supplies its labels Starobrno, Hostan, Zlaty bazant, Heineken, Amstel, Murphy´s and Edelweiß.
After implementation of the merger, Heineken Group will become the third strongest player on the Czech market.
