Acquisition of eBanka by Raiffeisen Bank approved

The Office for the Protection of Competition has approved the acquisition of eBanka by Austrian Raiffeisen International Bank Holding.

According to the Office the transaction should not harm the Czech bank market. The merger will create the sixth largest bank on the Czech market. Considering the low market shares and large rivals, an approval of the merger cannot strengthen or create a dominant position. The Decision was issued on 7th September 2006.
